Sarah is a wonderful writer. I myself prefer her Simon Sez series, but she understands the history of this period really well. The main character and secondary characters are very likable and well-developed and the dialogue is very good. At times these books remind me more of a young adult series, though.Product details

Always enjoy Ms. Shaber's writing style, her WW 2 homefront views, and her characters' day-to-day lives during that time.
I love this whole series. These two stories add to the experience of living in DC during WW2.
Fun to read, a glimpse into the past in a private and public way. I can almost feel the frustration of rationing, the fear of the unknown and the sadness when people still act like people
